Like The Sky

I want to be like the sky

The bold blue

miscellaneous hues

I want to grab it and hold it close to my chest

And never let it go

Feel it surround me

Like a warm, knit blanket

A bear hug that suffocates

Squeezing all the fear out of my lungs

But it always evades my grasp

Because real beauty cannot be held or kept back

Even when we’re within it

We still can't touch it

I want to be like the sky

No one could question me

I want to be like the sky

They’d marvel at my beauty

I want to be like the sky

No one could have me

I want to be like the sky

Only God could command me

I want to be like the sky

I could be

free
